Introducing Stenzel & Kivits
Stenzel & Kivits have been a duo combining music and humour since 2000. With their comical, musical shows The Perfect concert part II and The Impossible Concert, they toured well-known (humour) festivals and theatre and music venues in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, France, Japan and the Netherlands for over a decade.
With their latest show ‘The Flying Concert’, Stenzel & Kivits play the genre of music and comedy with a surprisingly fresh approach, but always recognisable to a wide audience. Musical virtuosity, sense of humour, technical ingenuity and pleasure in playing are just some of the elements that form the basis of their close collaboration.
Musical backgrounds
Mr. Kivits
Master Pianist
Mr Kivits studied piano at the Maastricht Academy of Music. His musical interests include composers such as Schubert and Beethoven, but also other genres such as jazz, pop and world music.
English humour and comedians like Victor Borge and John Cleese strike a chord with him. Mr. Kivits is the only pianist who can follow tenor Stenzel's musical antics.
Mr. Stenzel
World Famous Tenor
Mr. Stenzel took master classes in singing and theatre. His interests lie mainly in absurdism with a soft touch. In terms of musical tastes, you can think of Italian composers, including Verdi and Pucinni. He also makes bold forays into jazz and pop, where his classically trained voice comes into its own even more. Mr Stenzel is sometimes a bit gruff, but remains the only singer who can control Mr Kivits' expressive urges.
